Dominant pitching by Brian Greer and excellent base-running by the Red Raiders allowed for more run support than would be needed in the victory (2-0) (2-0 Ches-Mont).

GAME SUMMARY: The Raiders ran into a buzz saw this afternoon, as West Chester East handed Coatesville their first league loss 14-3, in 5 innings. The loss also ended the Red Raiders 5 game winning streak. While the bats showed some life in the final inning, it was too little, too late, to make a difference in the outcome. The fifth started out with Matt Crist being hit by a pitch and followed with singles by Zach Mains and Jesse McKim and a double by Billy Root to account for all 3 runs tallied by the Raiders. (7-2) (7-1 Ches-Mont).

GAME SUMMARY: After spotting the Cougars 5 runs in the first inning, the Red Raiders did their own scratching and clawing and managed to squeak out an 8-7 win on a beautiful day at Coatesville. After a tough first inning, Raider hurler, Mark Milewski settled down and retired 8 Cougars in a row. Zach Mains and Brian Greer provided no-hit relief in the final three innings to pick up the Win and Save, respectively. Kevin Quinn and Cody Jackson provided the spark the bats needed, each getting 2 hits, scoring 2 runs and a RBI in the 4th & 5th inning. Kenny Byerly knocked in the tying run and Dylan Grasmuck plated the go ahead run in the bottom of the 5th. Coatesville showed great determination in this come from behind victory. GAME SUMMARY: The Golden Knights stunned the Red Raiders 4-3 in a Ches-Mont contest. The Rustin pitchers had the Coatesville hitters baffled most of the game. However, the Red Raiders were able to plate 2 runs in the top of the 7th, and left the tying run on 3rd at the end of the game. Both Zach White and Jesse McKim had excellent performances on the mound. McKim came in the game in relief and struck out 7 out of the 9 batters he faced and giving up a fly ball that turned into a double play to get the Raiders out of a jam in the 4th inning. (8-3)(8-2 Ches-Mont).

GAME SUMMARY: Although the JV baseball team’s pitching remained stellar, excellent pitching performances by Kevin Quinn and Zach Mains were not enough to keep Henderson from avenging a previous loss, 8-7. After getting behind early, the Raiders fought back and were able to tie the game on a 2-run homer by Kenny Byerly in the bottom of the 4th. The Warriors regained the lead, but the Raiders had their chance in the top of the 7th, having the bases loaded with nobody out, but were unable to push over the tying run. (8-4) (8-3 Ches-Mont).

GAME SUMMARY: After being involved in 3 one-run games in a row, this game was decidedly different as the Whippets handed the Red Raiders their 3rd straight loss, 11-2. Things started out poorly for the Raiders as West grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but things didn't end much better as the Whippets 7 more runs in the 5th and 6th inning. The offensive highlight for Coatesville, was Kenny Byerly cracking a solo home run, his second of the year, in the top of the third. Brian Greer singled in the 4th, Cody Jackson doubled him to third and he scored on a safety squeeze by Zach Mains, but that was all the scoring that Coatesville could muster. Brian Greer did a commendable job pitching in middle relief. (8-5)(8-4 Ches-Mont).
