| GAME SUMMARY: On a bitterly cold evening the Red Raiders opened the 2009 season on a sour note as Kennett knocked off Coatesville 9 – 8. The Blue Demons jumped out to a 6 – 0 lead in the second inning and didn't look back. The Red Raiders chipped away with a run here and a run there, narrowing the lead to 6 – 4, but Kennett tacked on 3 more runs in the 5th to give them a 5 run lead. It looked like the Raiders were poised for a comeback when they scored 4 in the 6th inning, but left the potential tying run in scoring position. Brandon Andrew & Billy Root both collected 2 hits and Andrew also had 3 RBI. On a night when both team's pitchers had problems getting the ball over the plate, Root came in to pitch the final 2 innings for the Red Raiders and shut down the Blue Demon's bats. |

| GAME SUMMARY: The Red Raiders jumped out to a 2 run lead in the top of the first, but couldn't hold it as Henderson took the Ches-Mont game 7 – 4. Billy Root & Brandon Andrew walked to start the game. After Root stole 3rd, he advanced home on a wild pitch allowing the Raiders to grab their first lead of the season. Steve Medvidik followed that up by ripping a ground rule double to knock in the second run. The Warriors were able to take the lead and extend it by scoring in the first 3 innings on a few "seeing-eye" hits and shaky defense. Zach Mains and Jesse McKim pitched well in their varsity debut. The loss drops Coatesville to 0 – 2 in league play. |

| GAME SUMMARY: The Red Raiders again jumped out to a first inning lead but couldn't hold it, as Avon Grove answered with 8 unanswered runs to take an 8 – 1 lead. The Raiders didn't roll over though, in the top of the third they plated 4 runs with the big blow coming off a 3–run homer to left center by Steve Medvidik. Erik Klimoff took the mound in relief and shut down the Red Devil's bats, holding them to 2 unearned runs in 4 2/3 innings. In the top of the seventh Coatesville scrambled for 3 more runs, tying the game when pinch runner Matt Crist stole home on the back end of a double steal attempt. Avon Grove then strung 2 walks and a walk-off single together in the bottom of the 7th to take the Ches-Mont victory 10 – 9. The loss drops Coatesville to 0 – 3 on the young season. |

The Red Raiders pitching staff found strength in numbers again as five pitchers combined to hold the Eagles to 6 hits, all singles. The defense was phenomenal as they handled all 18 outs. The Raiders took a 2 – 0 lead in the first inning stringing together a walk to Billy Root, a single by Brandon Andrew, a run scoring groundout by Zach Stone and an RBI double by Steve Medvidik. Coatesville didn't look back, and the game was topped off by a 6th inning 2-run homer by Medvidik, causing the mercy rule to be invoked. The win brings Coatesville's record to 2 – 4. |

After dropping the non-league contest to Conestoga, the Raiders defeated Downingtown West 15 – 7 in a Ches-Mont battle. Brandon Andrew drove in 5 runs, scored 4 and hammered a homerun to centerfield. Not to be outdone, P.J. Groff drove in 3 & hit a homer of his own to center, into the rain caused "Moat" causing a big splash and scattering the fans at the Chick-Fil-A table! Steve Medvidik shut down the Whippets over the last 3 innings; giving the Raiders the 15 – 7 victory. The win put the Raiders back at the .500 mark in league (5 – 5) & 5 – 6 overall. |
