Hal Ziegler, a 1967 Graduate of Coatesville High School where he played 3 years varsity baseball. A 1967 5th round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves, did not sign and opted to attend Trinidad Jr. College in Trinidad, Colorado. He played 2 years at Trinidad Jr. College before returning to the Coatesville area to play in both the Coatesville and West Chester Adult Leagues. Zig is a member of the West Chester Adult League Hall of Fame. Zig began his coaching career in the Caln Athletic Association in 1986, coaching from T-Ball in 1986 all the way up the ladder to now coach of the American Legion team. The American Legion team in 1998 were State Champs and placed 3rd in the Middle Atlantic Regional Tournament. He began coaching at Coatesville in 1991 as a J.V. coach, and became varsity coach in 1992. He coached the 1st Ches-Mont Title team in 1993 and has earned 6 straight titles since. He led the team to winning the 1997 and 1998 District Champs, 1998 Eastern PA Champs and State Runner up. |
